Child Safeguarding Responsibilities

As the registered childminder at Daffodil WLC, Sara Taylor-Platt, is the safeguarding lead for our setting. It is important to share this information with parents to demonstrate our dedication to child safety. The protection of every child in our care is our foremost responsibility, and any cause for concern will be reported promptly following the Wales Safeguarding Procedures and our regional safeguarding board's guidelines.

Parents are required to notify us of any concerns they have about their child or any accidents, incidents, or injuries affecting the child. We will work collaboratively with parents to ensure the protection of their child, which may involve discussing any concerns with them.

We keep our training up to date in line with the National safeguarding training standards. The pre-registration course and additional training have equipped us with the knowledge to understand various forms of abuse and their signs and symptoms. we are also aware of the additional barriers that exist when recognising signs of abuse and neglect in children with additional learning needs and/or disabilities.
