Daffodil Welsh Language Childcare offers an immersive experience focused on the early development of Welsh literacy and language skills. Sara's own family includes 2 daughters Eden (Born 2018) and Erin (Born 2020), Sara is a divorcee and is the only adult resident at the property. Her children's ages are indicated in a manner that remains relevant over time, ensuring transparency about the family dynamic.

While Daffodil - Welsh Language Childcare does not have any pets on the premises, we have established a clear policy to address encounters with animals during organized events or general outings. This policy ensures that children's safety and well-being are always prioritized.

Details about the Children for Whom Care is Provided:

We welcome children from birth to 12 years old, prioritizing Welsh language immersion throughout their developmental journey. Our inclusive service embraces families from all backgrounds, fostering a culture of diversity and respect for individual differences.

 

Sara is registered with CIW and adheres to specified child-to-caregiver ratios, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while providing attentive and personalised care to each child. We are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive in both Welsh language and culture.

 

Languages Used:

Welsh is the primary language used, supplemented by basic English to ensure inclusivity. Sara believes in nurturing bilingualism from an early age and introduces children to both languages through daily interactions and activities.

 

Additionally, Sara incorporates British Sign Language (BSL) into our daily practices, further enhancing communication and inclusivity within our childcare setting. This holistic approach reflects our commitment to providing a supportive and enriching environment where children can thrive linguistically and socially.

Opening Hours:

Term Time: Monday to Friday

We understand the demands of modern family life and offers flexible opening hours to accommodate the needs of working parents.

From 1st December 2025, Sara will also be employed as a 1-2-1 Learning Assistant at Ysgol Gymraeg Y Fenni from 9 am until 3 pm, Monday to Friday during term time.

This means that during school term time, Daffodil Welsh Language Childcare will only be offering wraparound care for children 2+ years, who attend Ysgol y Fenni and Cylch Meithrin y Fenni, at the following times:

Before school: 7 am – 9 am

After school: 3 pm – 6 pm

The setting will be closed between 9 am and 3 pm Monday to Friday during term time.
Inset days will remain closed.


All year availability: Weekend care

Weekends operate from 9 am to 6 pm, and are available for children from birth to 12 years.

 

Out of Term Time: Half Term and Holiday Club

Half term and holiday club runs between 9 am and 3 pm for children 3 years+. We understand parents may need more time, therefore additional hours before and after are available at an additional rate, which is detailed on the website.

Out of term clubs include meals, snacks and activities, ensuring your children receive holistic care that caters to their diverse needs.

To ensure convenience and peace of mind for parents, clear procedures are in place for collecting children from our service. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, so arrangements are also made for late pickups when needed. Our goal is to provide a reliable and supportive childcare solution that meets the diverse needs of families in our community.

Staffing:

As the sole childminder at Daffodil - Welsh Language Childcare, Sara assumes full responsibility for all aspects of childcare provision. With her relevant qualifications and certifications, Sara ensures the safety and well-being of every child under her care.

 

Currently, there are no plans to employ additional staff. Sara provides personalised and attentive care to each child, maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

 

Volunteers may assist on outings; however, parental consent will be sought beforehand and all necessary safeguarding checks will be conducted prior to children being introduced.

Daffodil - Welsh Language Childcare boasts a thoughtfully designed layout that maximizes both indoor and outdoor spaces to create a stimulating environment for children's growth and development.

 

Indoors, children have access to various designated play areas, each carefully curated to cater to different aspects of their learning and exploration.

The living room provides a cosy setting for quiet reading sessions, educational tv, and group storytelling activities, while the kitchen doubles as a creative hub for hands-on experiments and messy play, such as baking, crafting and science-based learning, and the communal mealtime area. Additionally, the bedroom/playroom offers a versatile space for imaginative play and structured learning activities, with ample room for children to engage in role-playing games or artistic pursuits.

 

Outdoors, children have the freedom to explore and discover in a safe and secure environment. The grassy area and patio serve as ideal settings for active play, with plenty of room for running, jumping, and exploring nature. Outdoor toys and equipment, such as scooters and balls, are readily available to encourage physical activity and social interaction among peers.

Ongoing development to both the inside and outside, occurs depending on the Childrens needs and interests. All changes will be subject to dynamic risk assessments.

 

To further enrich the learning experience, Daffodil - Welsh Language Childcare provides a wide range of toys, books, and educational resources (In Welsh where available) tailored to children's interests and developmental needs.
