Sleep

At Daffodil WLC, we understand the importance of working closely with parents to accommodate their baby's or child's sleep routines within our schedule, which may include school runs and preschool pickups. These discussions are ongoing, as sleep needs evolve with the child's growth and development.

To ensure a harmonious partnership, we will discuss with parents in detail the established sleep routines for their baby or child. This includes understanding the number and duration of naps, the preferred times for these naps, and any specific methods or routines parents use to settle their child to sleep. Additionally, we will inquire about preferences regarding waking the child from naps and the use of comfort items such as dummies or comforters.

Understanding the baby's or child's sleep preferences and patterns enables us to create a supportive environment that aligns with their individual needs. This may involve adjusting schedules to accommodate nap times or respecting preferences for sleep duration and waking times.

Throughout the day, we will regularly monitor the baby or child during sleep, both in person and using a baby monitor. This allows us to ensure their safety and comfort while also keeping track of their sleep duration. Recording this information on a daily record sheet helps to maintain clear communication with parents and ensures consistency in the child's sleep routine between home and our care setting.
